Letting the body lead.

Holosomatic Bodywork is a body-centered therapeutic approach rooted in the understanding that your experience is held not only in your mind, but in your body, nervous system, and energy as a whole. The word holosomatic comes from holo, meaning whole, and somatic, meaning of the body. This work meets you as a whole human being, just as you are.

At its core, Holosomatic Bodywork is about teaching the nervous system how to feel safe again. Many of us live in patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn without realizing it. These responses once helped us survive, but when they stay active long-term, they can lead to tension, overwhelm, numbness, or disconnection. This work gently supports the nervous system in titrating (shifting in and out) out of these states and returning to regulation, safety, and presence.

Sessions start with grounding are are structured around rounds of activation and rest. These waves allow the body to process stored stress and energy without becoming overwhelmed. The process is guided through music, conscious connected breath, movement  and touch, always following the body’s pace.

Conscious connected breath is a natural, rhythmic form of breathing where there is no pause between the inhale and exhale. It helps bring awareness into the body, increases circulation of energy, and supports the nervous system in releasing held patterns. The breath is never forced and can always be slowed, changed, or stopped based on what feels supportive in the moment.

In in-person sessions, touch is offered with clear communication and informed consent at every step. As a trauma-informed therapist, every touch is therapeutic, intentional, and supportive of regulation. It never includes genitalia and never crosses sexual boundaries. This work is not sexual in nature in any way. You are always welcome to say no, pause, or change what’s happening at any point. Your autonomy and safety are central to the process.

In virtual sessions, the work is guided through breath, awareness, and self-touch, allowing you to engage with your body from the comfort and familiarity of your own space. This can deepen a sense of agency, safety, and self-trust while still supporting nervous system regulation and release.

As the body begins to feel safer, a range of experiences can arise. These may include emotional release, physical relaxation, spontaneous movement, shaking, tingling, waves of heat or cold, deep rest, or a sense of spaciousness and clarity. All of these responses are normal and reflect the body completing stress responses or releasing stored energy.

Holosomatic Bodywork supports embodiment, self-regulation, emotional integration, and reconnection with the body. It does not require analyzing your history or telling your story. The body leads, and integration happens through presence.

While this work is gentle and adaptable, there are some contraindications. Holosomatic Bodywork may not be appropriate, or may require additional medical clearance, for individuals experiencing severe dissociation, active psychosis, unmanaged epilepsy, recent major surgery, acute cardiovascular conditions, or pregnancy. If you are unsure whether this work is right for you, this can be discussed together beforehand.

Ultimately, this practice is about learning to stay with your body. About listening rather than overriding. Through safety, consent, and radical acceptance of what is present, the body naturally begins to soften, release, and integrate. Until being in your body feels like a place you can rest.
